Obama and Clinton on Gay Rights – Jarrett Barrios

I caught up with former Massachusetts State Senator——and staunch Clinton supporter——Jarrett Barrios at Jim’s Deli in the Brighton Square section of Boston. I asked him how he, as a married gay man, felt about choosing between two candidates who haven’t made gay rights a top election issue.

GO HILLARY

This queer agrees 100 percent. I just don’t see the action behind his words. I am sure either one of them will make a great prez, but Hillary has the pudding. And on another note, Jarrett is so handsome. I always forget if he is married or not. Jarret, will you marry me? I already rented the Limo and will make sure they attach Hillary stickers on the back.

Barack and gay issues

Barrios is absolutely right in noting that Sen. Obama has stayed as far away as he can from issues concerning gay rights. Why is that? Because he wants to win an election. But is that what you want in a president? A man
who only wants to win? Who will not for example speak about the heinousness of the even the idea of a promarriage amendment, who will not mention the fact that as an African American man he is , or should feel obligated to speak about levels of denial about Aids in the balck community and about national measures of Aids action. He sticks to what is safe, always, always. Why the press has not noted this, why they have treated him so cozily, is a mystery. thanks!

It is good to have a forum for discussing this issue as it relates to the coming election. Thank you!
